Test Prep!
Test Prep
Beginning Tuesday, September 5th students testing for Black Belt in December will go from attending their usual class to attending “Test Prep” class times. On A-Days these students will re-learn all the forms required for their test and on B-days they will re-learn all the self-defense techniques required for their test and hone their sparring skills.
For about 7 weeks they will review roughly half the curriculum and take a Phase 1 Test — tentative date October 21st. Students who pass the Phase 1 Test will continue training for about 8 more weeks reviewing the remaining curriculum and polishing their moves from the first round of testing. The tentative date for the Phase 2 Final Test is December 9th.
Emails will go out with further information to all Red-Black Belt students and families.
Kids Tournament!

Kids Martial Arts Tournament in Fall River, MA

9AM: ALL White, Yellow and Orange Belts (regardless of age)
9AM: ALL Students 5 or 6 years old (regardless of rank)
10:30AM: Students who are BOTH Green Belt or higher AND 7 years old or older
Sign up for some friendly competition with 2 other local dojos! Showcase your skills and cheer on fellow students in this positive and encouraging atmosphere. Students can compete in Forms, Weapon Forms and Point Sparring.
Forms
Demonstrate your current form or any other form you remember! Do your best to highlight awesome stances, good snap, accurate technique and show intensity for a high score from the judges! See if you can get one of the highest scores and earn a Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal!
Weapon Forms
Demonstrate your current form or any other form you remember using a traditional martial arts weapon! Do your best to highlight awesome stances, good snap, accurate technique and show intensity for a high score from the judges! See if you can get one of the highest scores and earn a Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal!
Point Sparring
Compete in a bracket-style tournament of Point Sparring matches! Winners advance to further rounds until there is a final champion of the division who has won the most matches! See how many matches you can win and if you can earn a Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal!
$35 To enter and compete in one event.
$15 Per additional event to compete in multiple events.
Students will compete against other students of similar age and belt rank from our school and the other schools present. Our goal is to have a FRIENDLY competition. Please support all other students, cheer on EVERYONE for giving their best effort and accept the decisions and outcomes with pride as long as you tried your best and had fun. We should all push each other to be great in a positive way by setting awesome examples for one another and inspiring everyone else.

Our September Parents’ Night Out will be a Nerf Battle!
Saturday, September 30th 6:00-8:30PM
We’ll set up different battlefields, obstacles and forts and play different nerf battle games like Elimination, Blob and more! Members and non-members are both welcome.
Your child will have a safe, exciting, and awesome night they will remember!
NOTE: Booking is a MUST!
You can reserve spots for up to 4 kids at a time but we only have 25 spots in total! Please include the name of each participant you are reserving a spot for.
Participants should be between the ages of 5 and 12.

Bring-a-Buddy Week!
Monday September 25th through Thursday September 28th students in classes can bring friends into class free of charge! We will do beginner-friendly games and drills to welcome them in while also celebrating everyone’s new ranks from Belt Testing with friends and games! Any friends who ABSOLUTELY LOVE our classes can also join our New Member Party for free to get to know even more students and feel right at home when they enroll in our program and become a member of our dojo!

We’re hosting a party for all our newest members at Ultimate Defense!
During classes we need to stay focused and don’t have much time to chat and get to know each other. This party is a way for everyone to have fun and learn about your fellow classmates!
Students who train with friends are 80% more likely to continue training all the way to Black Belt and have more fun! This party will help you make friends and get to know the other new students who are going to be by your side through your journey to becoming a Black Belt!

✅ Small group games for working together as a team
✅ Kicking and punching skill-building
You can also invite friends to join us at the party so they can have fun and join the team here at Ultimate Defense, too! If you invite a friend just make sure they are between the ages of 5 and 12.
